Please hold off from jumping in, I want to rearrange these a bit before opening it up to mob destruction. Also, is there a way to kill off the automatic categories? ħumanUser talk:Human 17:49, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

OK I'm done playing, feel free to have at it. ħumanUser talk:Human 17:53, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
This page is a sexy, sexy sight to behold. Scarlet A.pngpostate 01:32, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Thank you :) ħumanUser talk:Human 02:58, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Because this page transcludes the templates, it's in all of the categories. See the bottom of the template page. So sometimes "Portal Portal" shows up on the UK Politics bars, or the homeopathy page.. or what have you. Is there a way to remove the categories, even those the templates are transcluded? Or is it possible to make the portal templates automatically not consider this page? DalekEXTERMINATE 23:11, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm not aware of a way to have an article explicitly not be in a category, so I think it would be easier to just exclude the Template namespace from the DPL selection in each portal template. I'd give it a try myself, but it's 2am and I'm sleepy, so I'm not going to mess with DPL in that condition. But if no actual techies poked this until noon or so, I'll give it a try then. --Sid (talk) 00:07, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, it's a bug... Sid's idea would be the best way to go about it. Scarlet A.pngpostate 10:14, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Never mind. I found the problem. If you have a dpl parameter "namespace =" and the value is blank, it defaults to "mainspace only", whereas no parameter or value defaults to "all namespaces". The UK politics one didn't have the parameter so I've added it in, this should stop appearing now. Scarlet A.pngpostate 10:18, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Is it time to re-sort?[edit]

Originally I set this up with the most "important" nav boxen at the top, and in one large table. But I suspect it is getting a bit unwieldy. I am thinking of at least (1) making each row its own table with a header for ease of adding to the last one, and worse, perhaps, (2) alphabetizing them. (2) might make adding even harder though. (1) is a trivial aid I could do in one tiresome edit, though. Thoughts? ħumanUser talk:Human 04:30, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

I like those ideas, Human. And, yeah, I was just noticing the other day how we seem to have a portal template for every goddamn category we have nowadays. The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 13:30, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
People like making things that require no work. ħumanUser talk:Human 03:28, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

I took a look at the cat, and you're still missing:

(I think - I could be wrong on some of them)

How do you add new rows? Peter Monomorium antarcticum 05:34, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Copy the code from previous rows - the <td><tr> junk. Html table and all. Copy an existing row and paste in the new templates' names in the two places. Unfilled rows just blank the template name part.
What do you think about reorganising it? ħumanUser talk:Human 03:28, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. I think reorganising would be a good idea, though maybe difficult to pull off and still make it possible to add stuff. Is it not possible to put them all in one row that wraps? Peter Monomorium antarcticum 03:43, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
I think leaving the important ones at the top and all the silly new ones at the bottom will work fine. You did good on the additions, thanks! Just like that, yes. ħumanUser talk:Human 04:16, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
I wonder if there is something like the "gallery" function that would work with non-image contents? ħumanUser talk:Human 04:32, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Saw a few more missing:

  • French Politics
  • Water woo
  • Scams

Should we add those? (talk) 21:53, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

The countries template seems to be missing as well. (talk) 17:21, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
{{youtubenav}} is also missing. Dunno where it would go though, one could start a new line in the media section but it would look orphaned imo. Someone else's problem now. -Az (talk) 09:42, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

All the templates are onpage. Any that seem unnecessary? FU22YC47P07470 (talk/stalk) 01:34, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

William Dembski, Ray Comfort, Norse Mythology, Roma Antica, Podcast.
And what's with those headings? "Sane issues"? ωεαşεζøίɗWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 01:59, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
The conspiracy one in French also looks a bit out of place. ΨΣΔξΣΓΩΙÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 02:06, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, Dembski and Comfort can go. Should they go into Creationism or a new Intelligent Design template? (I favor Creationism.)
I'll put Norse Mythology into Religion, Roma Antica into History, and Podcast into Internet/Media/etc. Sir ℱ℧ℤℤϒℂᗩℑᑭƠℑᗩℑƠ (talk/stalk) 03:05, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
What else would you call them? FüzzyCätPötätö (talk/stalk) 03:28, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
They can keep the existing template without appearing on this page. ŴêâŝêîôîďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 10:54, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
If they're not useful, we should probably nix them altogether. αδελφός ΓυζζγςατΡοτατο (talk/stalk) 18:41, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
