Wiker holds a Ph.D. in Theological Ethics from Vanderbilt University, and is a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute. He is best known for his book The Darwin Myth: The Life and Lies of Charles Darwin (2009). He is the co-author with Jonathan Witt of a book advocating intelligent design, Meaningful World: How the Arts And Sciences Reveal the Genius of Nature (2006) and has written another book arguing against atheism, Answering the New Atheism: Dismantling Dawkins' Case Against God (2008).
Unlike most intelligent design advocates Wiker claims to accept common descent. He has written that he supports a form of theistic evolution based on the belief that God created the world to evolve and is guiding evolution. However Wiker has used straight forward creationist arguments in some of his books.
